Your housing budget in Copenhagen.

A room or your own apartment in Copenhagen?

A room and a one-room apartment are not the same. If you want to live alone, start with the property-type table: it separates rooms from apartments. The room-count table includes all types. For a shared home, check who shares the kitchen and bathroom and which costs are included. For your own apartment, the entire monthly cost must fit your budget, not just the rent.

Compare more than the rent.

Two homes with the same rent can differ in size and other costs. Compare similar homes and look beyond the monthly rent.

  1. 01 · Size and property type

Compare rooms and square metres. A large 2-room home can have more space than a small 3-room home.

  2. 02 · Advance utility payments and bills

Check what the rent includes and what you pay separately. Add those regular costs to your monthly budget.

  3. 03 · Deposit and first payment

Check the deposit, prepaid rent and first month's payment. Even a low-rent home can require a large sum before you move in.

How we calculated the prices.

Where do the figures come from?

We use listings that were active in our search area for Copenhagen on the stated date. The figures cover our selection, not all rental homes in Copenhagen Municipality.

We calculate prices using recorded rents above DKK 0. Listings without a usable price count towards the total, but not the rent figures. These are advertised rents, not rents from signed leases.

Typical rent is the median: the middle price when rents are put in order. The range runs from the 25th to the 75th percentile and covers roughly half the recorded rents.

What should you keep in mind?

New and removed listings can change the price figure. This does not necessarily mean rents changed for the same homes. The figures cannot establish whether a particular rent is lawful.

We show prices for a group only when at least 10 listings have a usable rent. Even larger groups cover only our listings, not the whole market.

Recorded on . Listings may have been added or removed since then, so the search page may show a different total. Read about our market data.

Questions about rent in Copenhagen.

What does a 2-room home cost in Copenhagen?

The typical monthly rent for the two-room group is DKK 14,650, based on 146 priced listings from 21 October 2026. The group includes all property types with 2 to under 3 rooms. Homes with 2.5 rooms are included because half rooms are rounded down.

Do the prices include utilities and the deposit?

The figures show the rent recorded in the listing. Check whether advance utility payments and bills are included or extra. The deposit and prepaid rent are separate moving-in costs.

How do I tell whether a home is affordable?

Compare homes with a similar size, location and terms. A lower rent may reflect a smaller home or a different location. Include utilities and moving-in costs.
